Cancer Working Party

Men and cancer is an issue GAMH is paying particular attention to. In 2023, we published a report, Gone Missing, that looked at how men are treated in global cancer policy. In Men’s Health Week, 2024, we launched Men and Cancer: A Charter for Action which sets out 10 key steps to improve cancer outcomes for men. In September 2024, we will publish a Manifesto on Boys, Men and HPV which sets out the case for global gender-neutral HPV vaccination. We are also have a report on prostate cancer in production which we plan to launch in October/November 2024. All these reports provide evidence we will use in our advocacy work to achieve the policy changes that are urgently needed at the global and national levels.

To support this work, we have created a new Cancer Advisory Group which will help to keep us informed of relevant developments in the field, advise us about which issues we should be prioritising in our policy work, review GAMH papers and reports on men and cancer before publication, and suggest the most effective strategy and tactics for our advocacy work.

The advisory group is drawn from the GAMH membership and other organisations that we work with closely on men and cancer.  Its current members are:

GAMH is grateful to all of the above for their support.
