Anthony Brown - Honorary Chair

Dr Anthony Brown is an Adjunct Fellow at the Centre for Male Health at Western Sydney University, Australia.

He has led research projects investigating men’s perception of health and wellbeing, and men’s access to health and aged care services. His PhD explored men’s adjustment to retirement.

In 2001 Anthony helped established the Australian Men’s Health Forum (AMHF). He was a Director of AMHF for 13 years and in 2014 was awarded a Lifetime Membership.

Anthony is the Executive Director of Health Consumers New South Wales (HCNSW), the peak advocacy group for people who use health services in the state of New South Wales, Australia. HCNSW works to increase the participation of health consumers in the design, delivery, and governance of health services, health policy, and health and medical research.

He was the founding chair of GAMH, serving from 2013-2023. In 2024, he was made Honorary Chair in recognition of his work.
